Book Blogger Hop: June 8th | Most Read Author

What author have you read the most in the past two years?

‘Book Blogger Hop’ is hosted by CoffeeAddictedWriter.

Whilst this is an excellent question, I have no clue where to even begin. Throughout the past two years, I’ve really been able to get back into my reading after having graduated college and it’s definitely become an element of my self-care as I fell into a pretty dark place. Therefore, I’ve been getting through books like no tomorrow these past two years, and I don’t think I can necessarily pinpoint an author that I know I’ve read the most.

Elaborating on that, when I left college (when I was 18, since I studied in the UK) I sort of lost track of my life. Since I didn’t have the routine of going to college and having essay deadlines to commit to and work towards, I really didn’t know what I was meant to be doing. In turn, my mental state plummeted to the depths and, without going into too much detail, it was a tough time. Somewhere, I motivated myself to read a book, and that’s how I got back into my love of reading and it’s been consistent ever since.

The book that got me back into reading was ‘Gone’ by Michael Grant, which is obviously the first book in the somewhat lengthy ‘Gone’ series. I went onto quickly read the rest of the series, so, in that sense, I think he’s the author I’ve read the most in the past two years. He’s not my favourite author, though I thoroughly enjoy his work, and I hope to expand out to read his other books soon enough too.

Though there have been other authors that I prefer over him, I don’t think that I’ve read them quite as much, which is mainly due to the fact that they won’t have published as many books or I haven’t had the chance to explore their other works. I enjoy reading a diverse range of authors throughout different genres, so I don’t think there’s one particular author that I’ve read the most in the past 2 years. There are certain authors that I’ve discovered such as V.E. Schwab and Maggie Stiefvater who I really enjoy, but I haven’t had the chance to read all of their work, or they simply don’t have enough published for me to deem them my ‘most read’ author.

I’m sure my answer would be more interesting if I religiously read Stephen King or Dean Koontz novels, but, whilst I’m a fan of them, my reading tastes have definitely spanned far and wide over the last 2 years, so no one author sticks out to me.

So, all in all, I’m just going to go with Michael Grant. The ‘Gone’ series is the series that once again sparked my love of reading, and, typically, I chose a lengthy series to become addicted to.

Short answer this week, I’m afraid, but a good, original question none the less!

What about you? Is there one particular author that you’ve taken to throughout the past two years, or are your reading tastes diverse like mine? Feel free to drop a comment and let me know – I’d love to hear your own answers!

Thanks for reading my answer to this week’s ‘Book Blogger Hop‘ and I’ll write you later.

    • I think one of the reasons that I was able to get into the Gone series is due to the love that it’s received from young adult readers, so that’s one of the elements of it that caught my attention. I’m definitely glad that I started reading it, as it’s allowed me to once again indulge in my passion for reading. Michael Grant does definitely do some excellent work.

Thank you for checking out my answer! 😊
